The Efficient Itinerary to visit Madakaripura Waterfall, Bromo and Ijen from Surabaya

If you want to visit Mt. Bromo, Madakaripura waterfall and Ijen crater to enjoy its blue flame phenomena on 3 days 2 nights and you arrive in Surabaya at in the noon at the first day, below I suggest you the efficient itinerary of the tour.

ITINERARY

Day 1 : Arrival

We will welcome you on your arrival at Surabaya Juanda International airport in the noon, and after introduction and brief chat, we will directly drive to Ijen crater via Bondowoso city, the trip will takes approximately 5-6 hours until we arrive at the hotel at the foot of Mt. Ijen, we will overnight in hotel for the rest of the day.

Day 2 : Explore Ijen Crater and Enjoy the blue flame and Madakaripura waterfall

We will start to explore Ijen on 12 am in the midnight, from the hotel we will drive around 40 minutes to Paltuding the first post of Ijen crater, from here we will trek Mt. Ijen to reach its crater, this will takes approximately 1.5 hours. The blue fire phenomena can only be enjoyed in the night while on the daylight we can not enjoy it because the sun shines make it invisible to be watched. This is the amazing phenomena on the largest crater in the world.

During this activity we will also meet with local traditional sulfur miner, they take a basket of sulfur from the crater and bring it down to sell it to collector as their livelihood, we can make a chat with them to know them much closer or record their activity.

When the sun raised we will get down from the crater and back to Paltuding, break and breakfast at the nearest local restaurant, then we will continue driving to the foot of Mt. Ijen from Probolinggo, this will takes approximately 3-4 hours. Before arrive at Bromo we will stop at Madakaripura waterfalls, this is the amazing waterfall which has a relationship to Gajahmada the great prime minister of Majapahit ancient empire ruled the archipelagos. Upon arrival to the main gate of the waterfall, we have to walk down along the bank of the river and sometimes cross it to reach the waterfall,  there are five waterfalls lines up on the cliff and we can enjoy it all in this area. We will finish at Madakaripura waterfall around 4 pm then we will drive around 40 minutes to the hotel at the foot of Mt. Bromo, dinner will be served at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3 : Explore Bromo

The Bromo tour will start on 2 am early morning, the 4WD vehicle called Hardtop will take us from the hotel and then we will start to explore Bromo with that car. The first spot we’ll visit in Bromo is enjoying the magnificent sunrise of Bromo from Mt. Penanjakan, this is the best place to enjoy the best sunrise of Bromo. Around 6 am we will get down to the sea of sands and then we will trek to the crater of Bromo, this will takes around 1.5 hours to finish the trekking. Next we will visit the Savanna of Bromo, local peoples called this savanna as “Teletubbis hill”, maybe you ever watched the cartoon series on television titled “Teletubbis”, this savanna’s name is referred to that cartoon series. The last spot we’ll visit in Bromo is the whispering sands, a small desert in Bromo formed along thousand years by the dust of surrounding volcano eruptions. When we finish it all, we will back to hotel, break and having lunch. Breakfast is not possible during this exploration, but you can still buy some snack in Bromo, there are many peoples offers many snack inside Bromo area, and we can buy it.

Around 12 am we will back to Surabaya, this will takes approximately 3 hours, we will arrive at Surabaya in the afternoon then transfer you to airport or the next places you should visit. Tour ends.
