Introduction
Mt. Bromo
Mt. Bromo is a part
of Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS) and now becoming one of the most
popular destination in Indonesia, that why the number of visitor highly
increase during the last 4 years, quite crowded to make visitor itself feels
uncomforted to enjoy this tour destination.
Mt. Bromo is always open
for tourism activity along the year and only will be closed temporary in case
of the eruption or the increasing of volcanic activity, the best months to
enjoy Mt. Bromo is during dry season or within June up to September, in this
season, tourist will get best opportunity to enjoy the perfect and wonderful sun rise of Mt. Bromo which is
become the main attraction. No need for long trekking to go up to Mt. Bromo
because local people provide 4wd transport called Hardtop to transfer the visitor
to Penanjakan sunrise view point and all spots in Mt. Bromo, the tour program
to explore Mt. Bromo only takes 6-7 hours.
Mt.
Semeru
Mt. Semeru also a
part of Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS), this national park extends
in the area of 4 regencies in East Java province
are: Malang, Pasuruan, Probolinggo and Lumajang, and can be accessed from every
regency. The peak of Mt. Semeru (3676 masl) is the highest land of Java island
and one of seven popular summit in Indonesia, was becoming mythical place along
the history of old Java empire and believed as the home of the majestic Shiva
in Hinduism belief.
The best season to
visit this mount also in the dry season, normally takes 4 days 3 nights
trekking program to go up and to go down, the hiker technically is only allowed
to climb Mt. Semeru until Kalimati camp because it is too risky to climb up until the peak,
that why the insurances formally covers only up to that place, but it is well
known for everyone that hiker wants to go to the peak on their own risk.
The starting point of
Mt. Semeru trekking is in Ranu Pani village, this village is also become the
first base camp and the office of administration entrance for Mt. Semeru
trekking activity.
Madakaripura
waterfall
This waterfall
located in the slope of Mt. Bromo and not allowed for tourist activity during
the raining. It is really beautiful waterfall, there are 5 waterfalls lines up
on the high clip and believed by local people that the waterfall was the place
of meditation of Gajahmada the prime minister of the great Majapahit empire
which is ruled in the archipelagos within 12th up to 15th century, you can find
the sculpture of this great prime minister at the main gate of the waterfall.
To reach the waterfall, you have to walk along the bank of the river and some
time cross it.
Ijen
crater
Ijen crater is a giant crater, produces a good quality
of sulfur and supply many factory to make from the sulfur many kind of
manufacture product such as cosmetic etc. Local people usually take the sulfur
stone from Ijen crater and carry it inside bamboo basket to the slope of the
mount, but now they are using a kind of trolley to carry the sulfur stone.
This mount is located
in the border of Banyuwangi and Bondowoso regency and can be accessed from both
regency. To climb up to the crater, visitor normally takes 1,5 up to 2 hours
trekking with steep trekking path, and when you already reached the bank of the
crater, you should get down and follow a dangerous small rocky path to see the
crater much more closer. The trekking will be started in 01:00am after you have
completed the entrance administration in Paltuding shelter, the duration of
trekking activity is only about 6-7 hours

1, 07 April 2017: Surabaya – Ranu Pani (Basecamp of Mt. Semeru)

We will pick up you in Surabaya, could be at the airport, hotel or any other
place in Surabaya
· Transfer
to Ranu Pani via Malang (around 5 hours drive)
· Check
in guest house in Ranu Pani, free time and overnight

2, 08 April 2017 : Ranu Pani – Ranu Kumbolo camp
· Breakfast
at guest house in Ranu Pani
· 08:00am
After completing the administration entrance in Ranu Pani base camp, we will
start trekking Mt. Semeru
· Trekking
to Ranu Kumbolo (around 5 hours trekking)
· Set
the tent, free time and enjoy the Ranu Kumbolo lake in front of your tent
· Free
time and overnight camp

3, 09 April 2017 : Ranu Kumbolo – Kalimati camp
· Breakfast
at Ranu Kumbolo

Start trekking to Kalimati
· Set
a tent in Kalimati, free time and enjoy the around the area

4, 10 April 2017 : Kalimati – Mahameru peak of Mt. Semeru

We will leave everything in Kalimati and bring only backpack to trek up to
Mahameru peak of Mt. Semeru

the amazing sunrise at the Mahameru peak

Get down to Kalimati and continue to Ranu Kumbolo camp
· Set
a tent in Ranu Kumbolo camp, free time and overnight

5, 11 April 2017 : Ranu Kumbolo – Ranu Pani

Trekking down to Ranu Pani (around 5 hours trekking)

6, 12 April 2017 : Ranu Pani village – Mt. Bromo
· 01:00am
In the midnight, we will transfer you to Mt. Bromo (2,5 hours drive using 4wd
car) directly to Penanjakan sunrise view point
· Enjoy
the wonderful sunrise of Mt. Bromo at Penanjakan view point
· Get
down to the sea of sands of Mt. Bromo and then
trekking to the crater of Mt. Bromo (1,5 hours trekking up and down)

Finish Mt. Bromo tour, breakfast and break

Continue driving to Madakaripura waterfall at the foot of Mt. Bromo (40 minutes
drive)
